Sainte King Constantine Equal to Apostles was a Roman Emperor (Constantine I the Great) through whom Christianity became a dominant religion in the state. Churches were built all over the country and at times old heathen temples would be dismounted for that. Saint Helena Equal to Apostles is the mother of Emperor Constantine I. For her activity of spreading Christianity Helena was canonized as equal to the apostles. Few women were honored like that. Saint Apostle Andrew the First Called is a follower of Jesus Christ, the first among His twelve disciples. Saint Boris the Blessed together with his brother Gleb is the first Russian saint canonized by Constantinople Church. The Martyr Faina, a holy virgin, dedicated herself to God since she was a young girl and died for Christ as a martyr. The Reverend Maxim the Greek translated many Christian writings into Slavonic, struggling for purity of faith was imprisoned and exiled.
